New Year, New Resolutions!

I "started" this blog over 6 months ago. And by started, I mean I signed up for a blogspot account. Well, a new year has begun and I think this is the perfect time to "re-start" this project!

2010 was pretty amazing! We were able to go on trips to New Orleans and Oahu, as well as a couple trips to Seattle and Georgia. Adam and I bought our first house in May! It is in Savannah, pretty much the most BEAUTIFUL city I have ever seen! I know, I know, you are thinking, "but don't you live in Anchorage?" and yes, you're correct, we do. But we will be back to our southern roots sooner than you know it!

As amazing as 2010 was, 2011 is already shaping up to be 10 times as fabulous! For Adam's 3rd annual birthday trip, we are driving up to the Chena Hot Springs to see the Aurora Bourealis (aka the Northern Lights!) The temperature outside will be somewhere below -10, but we will be able to relax in the 130 degree hot springs under the sky! (I am crazy excited!) The following weekend, I will be participating in the Pola Bear Plunge in Seward. The water will be more like 40 degrees,but I am sure it will be just as fun. (BRRRRRR)

On February 19th (and 28th respectively), Adam and I will begin our trek from Anchorage to Savannah. That's 4,523 miles door to door! We will both quit our jobs, and pick up and start over down south. It is scary, but I know we can do it. I will start by flying from Anchorage to Seattle 1 way, and then continue on to Atlanta for the GA Attorney's bar exam (doesn't that sound fun?) I will then fly back to Seattle, where I will meet Adam. While I am taking the bar exam, Adam will put the Mini on a barge to Seattle. We will then start the drive to Savannah! I figure it should take us about 4-5 days, but who knows, depends on what we see along the way! No matter what, we will be in Savannah by St. Patrick's Day for the 2nd largest celebration this side of the Atlantic!!

In May, my Mom is turning 50! We are all going to celebrate it the best way we know how, which is with a week long trip to Vegas!

On top of all of the early year excitement, two of my great friends are getting married over the summer. We will be in Spokane in July for Matt & Stacey's wedding, and in Seattle for my PIC (partner in crime) Sarah's wedding to Derek. Sprinkle a few trip to Disney in there and the summer is shaping up to be pretty great.

In October, Adam and I will run the Disney Food and Wine Festival 1/2 Marathon, followed by our FIRST EVER MARATHON, the Savannah Rock n'Roll in November.

We will round the year out by taking our long awaited South American cruise! We will visit Rio, Santiago and everywhere in between, ringing in 2012 off the coast of Stanley Island, in the Fauklands.

So there you have it! A preview of 2011! Hopefully the year shapes up to be as great as it sounds, and satisys my Wanderlust for a while!!
